Bring 2.5
cups of milk (or vegetable liquid) and grated horse-radish to a
boil. Trickle, stirring, 0.5 cup of cold vegetable liquid or
milk (shaken with 4 tea-spoons of flour) into it. Bring to a
boil and let it thicken. Add some butter or sour cream, and
salt. Heat without boiling.
